Skilled Carpenter

Witwer Construction is currently seeking experienced, full-time skilled Carpenters for our team. We’re a Fort Wayne based General Contractor, facilitating commercial and industrial projects spanning the healthcare and automotive sectors, plus retail, professional offices, and everything in between.

Duties in this position would vary by project, and would generally include interpreting construction drawings and documents, then installing building components. These might include concrete, masonry, steel framing systems, wood carpentry, millwork & trims, casework & countertops, doors & windows, interior finishes and specialty items.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Interpreting drawings & related information.
• Measurement & layout.
• Calculate needed quantities of project materials.
• Measure, cut, shape, and join various materials.
• Construction of building shell items (framing & support systems, cladding elements, roof, etc.) • Construction of building interior items (interior framing, finish items, etc.).

Experience and Requirements:

• 2+ years construction experience.
• Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
• Detailed oriented, organized, and quality and safety focused.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manual dexterity, physical stamina and strength.
